Maker Monday Club will not meet on October 21 or October 28. We will resume meetings on November 4.

In Maker Monday Club, we play to learn! Each week club members are presented with a design challenge using our maker and STEAM tools. They then put on their thinking caps and get to work. Students in Maker Monday Club may also explore our tools independently once they have planned their projects.

Oct 14, 2024 Challenge

With your team, create a fort for Count Dracula using Keva planks. Your fort must include a least two towers. Then, build a catapult from Strawbees or craft sticks. Use your catapult to launch candy pumpkins at the other teams' forts.

Which building material produced the best catapult? Why do you think that is?
Which fort withstood the barrage the best? What features of its design made it stronger than the other forts?
If you could change one thing about the design of your catapult or of your fort, what would it be and why?
